Chancel Choir The Chancel Choir is a group of committed singers of all ability levels who lead worship at one of the sactuary services each week. If you’ve sung all your life and are looking for a challenge or if you’ve always wanted to sing in a church choir and never felt welcome this is the place for you. This group is open to ages 14 to 100 and is definitely not your average stuffy church choir! Just a group of really great folks who love making music together for worship. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings 7:00-8:30pm. Each singer then sings for whichever worship service they would normally attend. The only difference is that the 11:00 singers wear robes and the 8:30 singers do not.
Instrumental Ensemble We have various groups of instrumentalists forming ensembles and beginning to lead worship. We are always looking for anyone who can play strings, brass, percussion, or woodwinds to come particiapte in worship. All ability levels and all ages are welcome.
St. John's Kid’s Choirs Choirs are offered for ages 4 years old through 5th grade. Choir sessions of 12 weeks each are offered each season, one in the fall and one in the spring. The focus of the fall session is a christmas musical to be held this year on December 4th. The spring session will culminate in a joint singing event on April 29th at 11:00. Rehearsals are on Wednesdays from 5:30 - 6:15pm. Kids are involved in learning great music, leading worship, and having fun with their friends! We teach music as a gift from and a way to worship God. We believe that even the youngest worshipper can lead us in praise of God on Sunday mornings!
Kid's Choirs begin the first week of September! We have a brochure and registration that you can print out and bring in the first day!

Youth Worship Team This year we are trying something new with our youth interested in music. We will spend some time working on contemporary music to sing for the beginning of the worship services. We are looking for singers and instrumentalists alike to see what we can dream up and lead for worship. All ideas and input are welcome as we start this new adventure. We will meet wednesdays 4:30-5:15pm in the sanctuary starting the second week of september.
HandbellsSt. John's Ringers is a multi-generational group of ringers who love to make music with bells. The group plays on an intermediate level and is always looking for new ringers. Ability to read music is helpful but no experience in bell playing is necessary. St. John's Ringers rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings, 6-7pm.
The Journey Music Team Come and help lead the congregation in song! In The Journey we sing a range of styles and try to stay ahead of the curve in contemporary worship music. Also we have a great time reworking many of the “old favorites.” Whatever your instrument may be; there is plenty of room and many ways for you to share your gifts and talents. Particular instrumentalists needed are guitarists, bassists, and keyboardists. However, if you are not musically inclined but would like to help, we'd love to have you share your gifts with the tech crew. We always need volunteers to help with the lights, sound, and man the computer. Rehearsals are Tuesday evenings, beginning at 7pm. Any questions about the music program at St. John’s - email Carrie Wright, Minister of Music cwright@comporium.net
