  Minister of Music

StaffAs Minister of Music at St. John’s UMC, my responsibilities include leading and/or overseeing all musical activities and organizing lay and staff participation in weekly worship services. As worship leader my desire each week is to provide a place for members and visitors alike to experience the holy presence of God. I believe that God called us ALL to sing our song of praise and so I am passionate about involving people of all ages and abilities in worship. If you have a desire to participate then I’ll find a place for you! If you want to learn to sing or play for worship – I’ll teach you!

My background includes a Bachelors of Science in Music Education from Western Carolina University, Cullowhee, North Carolina and a Masters of Sacred Music from Southern Methodist University in conjunction with Perkins School of Theology, Dallas, Texas. I am also a Deacon in full connection in the Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church.

My family includes my sweet husband, Clay, our two babies Eleana and Kaden, and our three dogs, Rocky, Adrian, and Ernie. In my free time I love to play outdoors running and biking or painting something in our house!

  Director of Children’s Ministries

StaffI was raised in the mountains of North Carolina. My husband, Bryson and I met in college. I graduated from Western Carolina University and then we were married in June 1990. We moved to Fort Mill in July 2000. We have 2 children, Trey and Meg. Our family joined St. John’s in June 2001. After being very active at our previous church, we were extremely anxious to get involved at St. John’s. Bryson and I began serving on various committees. I started as Director of Children’s Ministries in May of 2005. Opening St. John’s UMC WEE School in September of 2006 has been one of the most exciting parts of my job. I currently serve as the WEE School director.

  Director Of Youth Ministries

StaffAs Director of Youth Ministries at St. John’s UMC, my responsibilities include coordinating youth ministry programs to develop and maintain a comprehensive program of Christian education for youth, grades 6-12. I have been the church’s Youth Director since August 2005 and my goal is to direct our youth to know Christ, live as disciples of Christ and share Christ’s love in the world.

  Administrative Assistant

StaffI am a life-long resident of Indian Land in Lancaster County. I attended Wingate University. After college, I went to work, got married, and then became the proud mother of Eric (1979); then I became a working single mom. After working at two corporate jobs, I came to St. John’s on May 1, 1991. My family increased on June 30, 1996 when I married Mark and became a stepmother to his daughters, Cheryl and Sherri. Mark and I are also grandparents to Brandon. I am very happy working at St. John’s and am grateful for the loving church family. I attend Pleasant Hill UMC in Indian Land where I sing in the choir and play the piano and organ. I love music, reading, Eastern Star and spending time with my family and friends.
